FBC Missions Ministries

Supporting various missions ministries at First Baptist is a priority in the goal to share with the world the gospel of Christ. FBC missions support starts right here in Glenwood with AWANA and continues to the state, throughout the country, and internationally. Here is an overview of the missions that we actively support. If you have any questions about these ministries or would like to learn how you can support these and other ministires, please contact us.

We support the Kevin and Kathy Lasley and family pastoring at the Nett Lake Baptist Church on the Nett Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota. The Lasleys have been pastoring there for about the last 5 years.

Rollie and Rachel Noordmans at Camp Oak Hills in Bemidji, Minnesota, are our newest missionaries in camp ministries for children. They left our church April 2010 to serve there, restart a Bible camp, work in maintenence, and many other capacities as needed.

Mike and Sherry Borstad and family are in Tucuman, Argentina with Converge Worldwide. Mike trains national pastors and assists in a church in Tucuman. They have been serving there for the last 20 years.

With Zion Evangelical Ministries of Africa, Marv and Marie Bjorklund help with facility maintenence of a training center for pastors. Marie helps with orphaned children. We began our support of the Bjorklunds in 2008.

We also support Gospel for Asia. This organization trains native people in India to be pastors. Money we send help trainees with schooling, bicycles for transportation, and other needs.

In summary, we support 4 missionary families and 2 organizations in a larger sense. We ARE the missionaries in our local church with our AWANA program. We also send support money to our denomination, both the Minnesota Baptist Conference, and the larger Converge Worldwide.
